I think this is indcating that it's euipped with some thing like a gear vendor, if so how to i activate it or where is the control switch or button for it located?

So yes it has one but how do i control or switch it on/off?

What I do know is the DNE is for Doug Nash engineering Yes like a gear vendors , cant say I know where the switch is but if you looked at the back of the trans and identified the unit you could find the wiring and follow it back.

well i crawled underneath and have found 2 re-manufacture tags along the tranny. I'm starting to fear that the dual range component was removed and not reinstalled in the re-manufacture process.
Not sure how to tell if it has or not. Help!

Can you get a pic of the tail end of trans were driveshaft goes in ? It will be noticeable also most of those units on haulers of the era were under drive units and not gonna help on your Fuel economy
