    Default Modified 2008-???? Excursions

Here are some pics of my 2011 King Ranch Excursion Powerstroke built by Custom Autos by Tim. Man they do an over the top job. Yesterday I climbed under for the first time to take some measurements to build some steel steps. Man what a mess Ford has had to make thanks to the EPA. I can't wait until I move to Texas and get to rip all that garb off. lol Maybe then I can start seeing the real potential of this Scorpion Beast. Well so far just a King OE Coilover replacement to level her out and a Banks cold air intake. Next is steal rock slider steps and coating the front and rear bumpers to match the two tone. Oh and one more beef with the safety garb on the new trucks is the stability control. The brakes apply themselves on downhill turns. Bet that'll take a few thousand miles off a perfectly good set of brakes. Oh and looking at the price after the conversion there are a lot of other vehicles in that price range that are half the rigs these things are, like Escalade, Range Rover, Lexus, Audi, and Porche just to name a few.

0k, this thing is totally ridiculous!!! I want one Really nice job, I'm betting they did a much better job on the roof Any pictures of the frame splice? What was the price? guessing 30k for conversion.

When you factor in the king ranch truck brand new 59,000 and 33,000 for the conversion
92,000 total would be 10x cooler than any other brand new suv out there

    Default Update 5-26-13

Picked up a used set 3/4 tread 37"x12.5R20 Trail Grabbers and 20" Weld Racing Cheyenne's. Really looks clean on the Ex. Had to snip the fenders and bumper brackets but nothing major. Sticks out a little much for my taste but really makes here look mean as hell. Couldn't believe I found a set of 3/4 Treads in the exact size and make that I wanted. Times are tough for all of us and man is it tough to pay over $2K for a set of tires. $500 hit the spot.

    Default Update 12/8/14

So took a trip down to Hollister Hills to watch a buddy in an event over the weekend. Promised the kids to let them drive one of the rigs and it was far too muddy to take anything else so we just went the Excursion. I let all 3 of my kids drive age 9-14. The middle one was the one I was worried about but she did pretty well. The 14 year old did really good and the more intermediate obstacle coarse. Nothing over the top, but no Range Rover or Escalade would have walked right up the washout @ 5:35. Enjoy.

Because they stopped making factory excursions in 2005, it's something different, they attract attention, it's something your neighbors would drool over and wouldn't know where to get one. The same company that made that excursion also makes a 4 door raptor excursion called the VelociRaptor.
