Less of a build thread but wasn't sure where to put this. As a birthday present I bought a set of the lifetime LED 9007 headlight bulbs. I'm very happy with the low beam light output and color. It's really bright and great spread, but the high beams just brighten the ground right in front of the truck. They point down due to the high beam LED being on top and the shape of the factory reflector. I'm thinking about replacing the housing with one that has a built in reflector in front of the bulb. FYI, Lifetime offers online coupons occasionally that will save you about $25 front the normal price of $150.

Another note about pictures from an iPhone, if you don't take the picture quick it will adjust for the lighting and make the lights look dimmer. I tried to take the pics fast for true appearance.

If anyone wants info on the Amazon bulbs let me know.

The first pic is the cheap Amazon 6" LED Offroad lights with normal headlight bulbs.

I also bought some cheap LED bulbs for my riding mower and it easily doubled the light output. So them I bought the reverse lights and now I can really see when backing up!

Reverse lights. (Standard on the left, LED on the right) they look much brighter in person

That is pretty cool. I know the LEDs are brighter up close and the only complaint I have heard is like you said High beams or long range.
You can always add driving lights for that too.

To be honest, I really don't need high beams with the light they put out. And the dual 6" led Offroad lights are there when I need them. Just slightly illegal.

The Lifetimes only fit in the housing one way. I have thought about testing them turned sideways and if that helps use a dremel to change how they line up in the housing. Either way they are much brighter with awesome spread. I can even see the ditches and have yet to have oncoming traffic flash me for bright lights.

I'll try to get some in cab photos and post them also.
