Hi guys, update on the project, just got a new body lift kit 3". Will have pic when it stops raining tomorrow. I need to know one thing, would it be stupid to think of putting a 5,9 cummins with 5spd and 44 in it? yes or no thanks.

Are you talking about a Dana 44 for a front axle? That will probably be a little light.

Beyond that, the cummins is just completely personal preference.

new tire rack on the back

03-21-2013, 05:17 PM
befor and after body lift .almost done with it jusr a few more twics and coupler of hose and will be done be side the grill being painted two make the tire rack

looks like it is coming along. Looks sharp

03-22-2013, 08:29 AM
Coming along nicely! (pun intended) And quickly!

Did it already have a tire rack on the back? Either way make sure the inner fender brace is inside the fender. Its an extra piece of metal that wraps around the tailight and the tire rack bolts thru it. Without it the tire rack will tear up the fender.

Hi guys just keeping you all updated it running now. Yea I got the braces for the tire rack and i need a little help if anybody knows about battery problems, I got two new 780 cold crank batteries for it and i still have battery light on i checked all the grounds too, Everything and still the light is on, could my cables be bad on - or +? I know I replaced my + from starter two next battery and two the other one it new too idk what to do if anyone had this problem before plz give me a shout thanx

If your battery light is on. Either your alternator is bad, or the wiring to it is bad.
Maybe you don't have all of the wires hooked up to it yet?

03-25-2013, 01:12 PM
i never took the wires off the the alternator and it is a new one but i take it two see it it bad thanx for the tip you are really helpful

03-26-2013, 12:06 PM
I found a the ground was lose I titend it but it is still over chargeings I guess my new starter is bad

03-26-2013, 02:01 PM
The starter will not have anything to do with charging.

It is either the battery, alternator, or wiring in between.

Now lets look at something else. You took a Gas powered body and put it on a diesel frame correct?

The gas engines of that era were internally regulated alternators and the diesels were externally regulated.
So for the swap you would have to take the voltage regulator off of the old fender well, put it on the new body fenderwell and wire it.
Assuming you did that and the system is overcharging, then you need a new regulator.

I just got a new regulator it work fine love my truck I have a newer pic of her on the road
