If you own a diesel, you will benefit from this, Won't help gassers much.

Ford does this goofy thing, venting the gas tank through the filler neck while you are filling. If you have a diesel you know how annoying this is, unless you are using a small nozzle it won't stay on, the pump keeps clicking off. You have to sit there and hold the nozzle in some funky position, and just barely squeeze to keep the fuel from kicking the nozzle off.

If you don't want to run the LR tire up on a 4x4 block of wood everytime you fuel to prevent this, this here is how to fix it.

Remove the filler neck and hose from the truck.
It will look like this when you get it out.

Remove the inner hose and metal piece it is attached to. If you take a hammer and a punch you can push it down to the bottom of the tube. I reached in with a sawzall and cut it in half to get it the rest of the way out the bottom.

I used a half coupling and welded it onto the filler neck. I used 3/4".
You do not need a welder, for the filler neck you can use a bulkhead style fitting, or just cross thread a nut on the back.
I used sprayer fittings, (WHite Teflon) didn't get a good pic of them. They are 3/4" pipe thread on one side, and 3/4" hose barb on the other a 90 degree configuration.

After you intall the fitting on the filler neck you can reinstall it.

Take this goofy thing out, and pitch it.
take the second fitting and put it in this hole using the rubber gromet from the tank vent.
3/4" hose barb, or pipe thread will fit tightly in this gromet.
This does eliminate one tank vent, so make sure the vent in your fuel cap is working.

Take a hose and connect the two. Heater hose will not last very long, get some hose from the sprayer place where you got the fittings.

The pic isn't the best, but you get the idea.

I haven't had a lot of time with this, but on my first fill with a big truck nozzle it will handle 100% of what the pump will put out without clicking off. It's too fast kind of scary.

Guys that have done this on pickups with factory tanks say they get the same results, and they get a couple extra gallons in the tank.
On a Centurion you won't have clearence problems with new fitting.
On pickups you have to shimm the tank down a little, I think the front tank is okay, but when the back tank is done the fitting hits the bottom of the bed.

If you do this mod and the truck quits running, pull the gas cap, your vent is bad.

One thing I learned with the donor truck we bought, somebody makes a T fitting for doing this mod.

On the truck we bought with a flat bed, it has a roll over valve with an extra hose connection on it just for doing something like this.

The filler neck also already had the fitting on the tube.

Transfer flow makes a very nice kit for doing the same thing. I installed it on my 90 f250 and it worked great. I got the kit at cost.
