1.21 gigawatts!

I think one would be pretty cool to own, though see myself getting bored with it in a short time period.

Thank goodness the economy's still in the crapper or I might go after this. I've wanted one since I was about 12, and it is even an '81 with black interior, manual trans AND a gas flap hood model.... *sigh*, the triple threat combo I always wanted, except the higher mileage. The next best thing to the '81 gas flap hood cars in my opinion are the roughly 800 "1983" model cars that Consolidated Industries assembled and shipped out the door after they took control of DeLorean Motor Company to liquidate it, pretty much with the blessing of the British Gov't. I fell even harder for the cars when i found out many years ago that the DMC-12 was originally going to have a Wankel rotary, but since the contract was through GM (who was going to source the first few engine from Curtiss-Wright), that fell apart when Curtiss-Wright sold the Wankel license and all rights to John Deere and GM gave up on the rotary about the same time. Then DeLorean was thinking Porsche power, but settled on the PRV V-6, while he was raiding the PRV parts bins for other stuff.

Very neat cars. Their history is almost as intriguing as their looks.

Neal.

Used to have a neighbor that had bought one as an investment. Probably still in his garage. They sure did not appreciate like they thought it was going to. Maybe in another 20 years.
