except it's not being pushed by a gasser, it's pulling one.
Didn't want to embarrass the guy though :roflmao: :RebelSmilie:

Anyone going to Pismo sometime that wants to meet should post up, because I am going to school in San Luis Obispo and I am at Pismo usually about once a week, centurion is not here with me for most of this year though, since it would cost me $500 to park it here with no need to use it.

I should have some pretty fun updates on this soon. Motor is coming back out to check on a few things, and while it's out it's getting some goodies.
I've got a turbo off a 14L detroit series 60, compression is getting lowered down to 16:1, and the top end is getting ready for a few more rpms. hopefully I can get this done within a month or so... I'm getting pretty exited!

Nice cent! I guess we are the few 3rd gen 250 psd owners! Sounds like you got some ponies! Have you had it on a dyno and if so how much is she putting down?

96partywagon
10-30-2009, 02:43 AM
Haven't had it on a dyno. Some guys that have had similar setups have put between 500 to 600 hp to the tires. I would like to be in 550 range, but we will see what happens. It's definitely fun to drive, I can still tow with the big turbo, and if it's driven right it doesn't smoke on the street either.
Here's some pics of the new turbo:

96partywagon
11-10-2009, 01:51 AM
250cc BD code injectors with 100% over nozzles, modified Borg Warner K31 turbo, intercooler, electric fuel system, dual high pressure oil pumps, built trans with billet flexplate, a little propane, and tuning for those mods.

As I suspected, I bought a dud motor hardly a year ago. This thing barely has 5000 miles on it and most of the cylinders look like this:
http://inlinethumb50.webshots.com/29809/2820223380104152079S425x425Q85.jpg (http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2820223380104152079FZFLGH)
I guess that is what I get for paying someone else to do something for me. luckily this motor has a warranty on it, so as soon as I get the politics worked out with that I will be able to start putting it back together again.
It almost seems like the builders of the motor used the wrong size pistons for whatever they bored it over to. I can grab the pistons at TDC and wiggle them all around extremely easily... it's so pathetic it makes me sick. Tomorrow I am going to pull the pistons and rods out of the motor and try and figure out why the rings were trying to destroy the cylinder walls so fast.

Looks to me like more than 5000 miles!!! Ridge and bore finish look like it has not been bored in many miles.

Sure did! but every 275 miles it wouldn't...something about that magical number and being fed went hand in hand.. $80 later, and it would pass em again.

Unfortunately I ran into a huge obstacle with the motor. While it was getting the rest of the machine work done somebody decided to break into the shop and steal the motor!:angry-smiley-030: The people who built the motor are replacing everything but there's just a lot of time involved due to starting over from scratch.
But, I found a complete motor out of a wrecked truck for a steal, so I threw that in there so that I can finally drive the stupid thing again. Definitely not as much fun with a stock engine but it's still nice to drive the truck. Found some time to go on a little wheeling trip a little while ago.

Love the wheeling pics. Did you ever SAS it? I have heard horror stories about TTB and rock crawling so I am curious. Also you have a 4" lift up front with 6" rear springs and 36" tires? I love the way the tires fill the wheel wells on your truck. I just want to make sure I have the combo correct.

thanks

Thanks for the compliments. I didn't actually go over the whole obstacle, some of the rock steps were as tall as the truck lol. Nope, the truck still has the TTB on the front. I keep saying I'll put a dana 60 under the front once this TTB needs balljoints, but those things refuse to give up, so it stays. Hasn't given me any problems though, so I can't complain. You have the setup right, it has 6" springs in the rear but I put blocks in that were 2" shorter than the stock ones, so it gives 4" of lift.
