First of all i'd like to say this is a great site & i'm glad to be the newest member:D .................I don't have any experience with these vehicles. Is this a good price for this year of vehicle? I like the two-tone paint & i definetly want a diesel 4x4. Thanks for the help http://www.fourdoorbronco.com/temp/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/jump.gif

First, Welcome.
You can find prices all over the board on these. For the condition it appears to be in. That is a fair price. Especially if the mileage is accurate.

The hardest part is getting a loan for that amount on a 1988 vehicle.

Thanks for the info. I didn't think about the year, i bet it would be very difficult to get a loan. As far as the mileage, didn't that year(s) have only a five digit odometer? Makes you wonder if it is the actual mileage. Erich

Good point, I have no idea whether that year was mechainal or electronic odometer. It could very well be 100+ or 200+, but from the looks of the interior I doubt it.

We talked about getting loans some in the Q&A section at the top, under how to buy.

BTW
I e-mailed the person on the 88 c350, to see if they would send me pics of the engine, dash & the area where the top is welded to the cab.............if i get them i'll try to post them

Add says it has a new interior tho. *http://www.fourdoorbronco.com/temp/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/shrug.gif
Digital dashes were started in '92. It looks good though.
I would want lots of detailed pics of the paint also, the door jambs are red, it has had a color change. Usually, if some one is too cheap to have the jambs painted................................ they were also too cheap to pay for a decent overall paintjob in the first place.

And welcome!!!!!! http://www.fourdoorbronco.com/temp/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggthumpup.gif

I've e-mailed this person twice & no response......not sure what the problem is?....must not be to interested in selling it, cause i wouldn't even consider it, until i seen more pics of the interior, engine & picture of the odomoter.

I would be very hesitant. I own that exact year vehicle with the same interior, except that one is a diesel. If it had enough use to warrent a new interior that is more like 140 or 240k miles. Mine is at 180k miles, used by a construction contractor and didn't need a new interior until 160k miles. I will work on that next after the mechanical stuff.

It is in CO so is the paint job to cover rust??? Or preventative, either way it needs a lot more info before you buy at that price. If it is a provable 40kish range for a diesel, then hey worth it, if not then no! If you can get a VIN, I'll run a carfax on it.

Alright I got ahold of the guy selling it; his name is Dan http://www.fourdoorbronco.com/temp/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

He just bought a new truck, those are the original miles, real nice guy, he needed the money he dumped the truck for 6000 dollars to Triple T auto sales in Franktown, CO where it is still sitting on the lot.

If you call I'm sure he will still be willing to talk to you, just a super nice guy.

TRIPLE T SALES (ask for auto sales with secretary)
7526 BURNING TREE SQ, FRANKTOWN, CO 80116
Phone: (303) 688-8113

I talked to Glen (can you tell boring morning at work).

$5995.00

Truck exterior was red, they have no idea when repainted, the truck only has rust at the bottom fo the typical bronco tailgate spots. He is sending pics including a pic of the roof. I know you didn't ask for it, but that is a very common bad spot.

Thanks alot Dobleslady, i appreciate all the "leg work".I really would like to see some more pics before i make a decision ...i'm glad their sending more pics. I was unaware of the roof being a problem, but then again i don't have a clue what to look for with these conversions....all i know is i want one *

It's nice to be apart of a group that goes out of there way to help each other http://www.fourdoorbronco.com/temp/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/jump.gif ....i'm honored to be apart of it http://www.fourdoorbronco.com/temp/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/xyxthumbs.gif

oh wow, well for an idea of the roof nightmare, take a look at mine:

This is the original post with some of the pics missing from post quarantine from when we had the board mess up:

original roof post (http://www.fourdoorbronco.com/temp/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=9;t=566;st=30)

Most of the pics from page 3 onwards are there, gives you one #### of an idea of what can go wrong and is common on these centurions.

This is the post I started with fixed pictures from page 1 and 2 or the 7 page thread:

This is what you don't want to see: (my truck)

http://www.superford.org/getfile.php?id=119173&toggle=fullsize&filename=PIC00018.jpg

and my truck has been re-painted once since 1988 (like the one you are looking to buy). That gives you an idea of how fast that roof can break down from sun damage and leak.

When taken care of properly no big deal, but if an owner does not take care of their truck it can get really REALLY bad like this four door bronco owner:

Holes all the way through his truck roof:

http://www.supermotors.org/getfile/74147/fullsize/roof%20holes.JPG

http://www.supermotors.org/getfile/74148/fullsize/roof%20seems.JPG

This will not be a problem for most trucks out there, but some unscrupulous sellers will fail to mention a little roof "rust". Sure as hell wasn't mentioned in my ebay auction for my truck.

I was just hinking the same thing. What are the odds this guy having two of them.

I would be nervous buying from him without seeing as much of the truck as possible, and then not handing over any money until after traveling out there to test drive the vehicle and kick those tires for yourself.

When I talked to the guy at the lot, he already knew I had talked to Dan not even 6 minutes earlier. That is one hell of a fast call to the car lot to mention someone had asked where the truck was. Even knew what city I was in. Not too many people who sell their trucks to a car lot would call the car lot to let them know someone had inquired about it. And especially within a 5 minute time frame. He says he sells it to the lot for 6k, and then the lot tells me they are selling it for 5995, um where is the profit for the lot? I'm sure y'all noticed that in my previous post though.

when I was looking at the diesel on their lot they seemed rather odd to deal with, my guess is that you called the guy's cell phone see here (http://www.whitepages.com/10340/search/Reverse_Phone?phone=303-949-0105) and my guess is that he works there at the dealership. Keep in mind this is the same dealer that said the longer the truck sits on their lot the higher the price goes.

This sounds like a BS deal to me:angry: ....the worst thing about a vehicle(used or new) is the #### salesperson(s)..i would go test drive but i'm over 500 miles away from there, i live approx. 30 miles from Ft.Riley/Junction City KS

Sorry about the roof Dobleslady, i think if i bought one i would take it down & have the roof rhino-lined, to stop the rust, if it was superficsel

Audra
11-04-2004, 07:25 AM
I didn't want the roof to look like rhinioliner but instead for the final paint job to look like it never happened. So I chose to fiberglass it. It will never leak or rust again and can be painted as soon as my bondo skills improve and there is a smooth surface to paint http://www.fourdoorbronco.com/temp/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
