Today was a new Idle Air Control Motor.(didn't help much because I think the part is bad, but hey got pics of location and installation).

I've already unplugged it in this pic, self-explanatary just don't break the clip like I usually do ;)

Literally just two bolts on the sides and plugging it back in. There is a gasket that goes between the engine and the new idle air control motor which will come with the new one.

ok, have installed the new idle air control motor. Works beautifully, and the mild backfiring experienced on the freeway has stopped, but it didn't help with the specific engine issue I am working on. Either way needed a new one.

This is the technical section. You post how - to's. Not problems to be fixed. My original problem posts can be researched in the forums.

only reason was the mild backfiring could be from the fuel pressure regulator failing internally and sending fuel threw the vac line into the manifold {carbing} or the vac line breaking altering the pressure. older fords had a problem.

fuel pressure regulator was changed out, it was brand new. This is a fuel injected ford.

That is the first place to go, check fuel pressure, but in this case that proved okay.

The idle air control motor did fix the problem I believe, I would have to go back and read the thread.
