Decided that trying to fix this problem:

Fuel/Idle problem? (http://www.fourdoorbronco.com/temp/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=1;t=62)

That perhaps the next step was to change out the O2 Sensor.

So if you're looking along your exhaust pipe from the driver's side of the truck you can see your existing oxygen sensor; it plugs into a wire and the sensor screws into the exhaust:

I had the sensor on hand, a can of PB Blaster meant to help remove the old o2sensor as they get unbelievably stuck, and the special socket called, get this, an o2sensor socket. go figure.

First thing I decided to do was to spray the loosening catalyst (pb blaster) on the old o2 sensor to start allowing it to loosen up. I did try the socket on it, and as expected it did not budge an inch, well actually not even a cm lol.

So my next focus was the plug and oh my God was it crudded up. Here is a close up:

So time for a clean up lmao. Well then a little clip fell off of it!!!beware the tiny clip that helps hold on the plugged in part. It has a bump on one end and is slid off:

So then being careful not to break the clip I try to unplug it./ Oh no it is completely stuck on. So I read the can of PB Blaster which says safe for electronic. spray it a bunch. sit spray it a bunch. The freaky thing about this stuff is that it creeps into the slots. Well then it just slides right open. Nice, very nice. I am reminded to spray some extra on the sensor while it is working itself free since I just had good luck with the plug. Here is a de-gunked unplugged plug

ok plug part is done so time to go over and look at sensor. I am female and fairly small so I was able to get up in there and look at it, if you are a guy you may never see this: (the top of the screw in sensor while installed LOL)

ok so lots of PB Blaster later and after dusting off anything I was afraid might fall into the hole I got the O2 sensor off. The old one looks like this except it was all white on the sensor part, the greasy stuff on the end is finger prints from me http://www.fourdoorbronco.com/main/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/blush.gif
