View Full Version : What does everyone think about this for a purchase

09-29-2003, 01:29 AM
I have located a 94 C-350 4x4 with a powerstroke and only 76K on it. A 12000lb warn winch never unrolled, keyless entry alarm, 4" lift superlift I think, though the back has stacked blocks. 35" bfg all terrain tires not ko's, and the guy has a brand new set of 35's with studs. Interior fairly clean, brand new glowplugs only trouble lately, hasnt been driven more than 5000 miles since he bought it. He is asking 13,000 but it is moving to phoenix soon and is anxious to sell it. White in color, What does everybody think, I am not sure on prices for these. thanks

Right now looking at others, that is not a bad price. That mileage is tough to beat.

They all have blocks in the back that is normal for a 1 ton. Does it sit up that high, a 1 ton sits pretty tall anyway.

4doorbronko has 36" tires on his stock height '94 C-350.

Sounds like a nice truck, I say go for it, but it's not my money.

Actually, I'm running on 35" tires.
Guy I bought it from said it had 36's in his add, but they were 35's.
36's would fit fine if I didn't have running boards.
The stock Ford suspension sits tall enough to fit 35"/36" tires with no lift.
The price doesn't sound too bad, sounds like you could "talk him down a little" if he's moving.
Good luck!!

That sounds like ?a pretty good truck. I have the same year, color, and probably engine, without a lift. Since it is a '94 it is probably not a Powerstroke though. Mine has the factory turbo indirect injection 7.3L. You may be more savvy than I was and know the difference. I have since learned that the easiest way to tell the difference visually is by the air filter location. The indirect 7.3 has a square box on top directly on top of the intake manifold. The Powerstroke has the filter off to one side. See this thread
7.3L Diesel Variations (http://www.fourdoorbronco.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=1;t=6)
for a very thorough explanation that Traveler was so kind to put together to explain it to me.
The '94 was a unique year as there were three different diesels available at some point during that year: The 7.3L non-turbo indirect injection; the 7.3L factory turbo indirect injection(which uses an ATS turbo system built to Ford specs); and finally the 7.3L direct injection Powerstroke. Apparently the '94 F-350 was only avaialable with the Powerstroke at the very end of the model year so I understand that they are somewhat rare. It makes it confusing when getting parts. You just have to give them the engine code from the VIN.
I love mine! But my wife doesn't like it so much right now since she is having back problems. They ride pretty rough.
Good luck, and keep us informed what you end up doing.

Yup, they ride realy rough.
I don't think you want it.
Where is it at? I'll go check it out for you, make sure it rides O.K........... http://www.fourdoorbronco.com/main/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
Actually, with a set of smooshy 35" tires @ 40/45 psi mine rides surprisingly well. My '89 came with a kidney belt tho. http://www.fourdoorbronco.com/main/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
There are a few cheap and easy ways to soften up the ride without losing any load capacity.

I have heard people talk about removing the overload leaf in the back, velvet ride rear shackles, and the shackle reversal kit for the front. Is there anything else that I have missed?

A 53 gallon fuel tank helps, it adds more ballast.

You pretty much covered the ride improvements. Most guys buy high dollar shocks. I think it just rides rougher.
I buy the cheapest, so they wear out fast. Soft ride, just doesn't handle as well.

Find that fine line on the air pressure, run it 2 pounds above where you think it would blow at for running it too low.

I'd have to say the seats help a bunch also. A big cushy seat makes up for a lot of bumps.
