Just a little FYI. I e-mailed neonsign.com about reproducing this sign with the same font, it wouldn't be the same as far as the framework and would come with an acrilic(sp?) face to protect it.
Price was $335 with a choice of color. They would not offer a group/volume discount as each would be handmade.
So there is that for what it's worth.
Wish I had kept in touch with a buddy in Reno, he was a master glass blower for a sign company there, probably could have done the same thing for cheaper.
Oh, free shipping and lifetime warranty on the transformer.

I'll be sending the sign to Jeff at some point when he is ready so that reproductions can be made from the original. I have a pretty good collection of centurion memorabilia going. Just about one brochure of every year of production etc. It will take time, but it will get there.

I'm going right past Dick's Auto Parts on Monday and Friday next week in case you want me to stop and "pick up" your sign for you.

I got tied up at work and missed the end of the auction, maybe it's a good thing though...a bidding war amoungst ourselves doesn't seem too cool anyway.

I would take you up on that Bob, except I wouldn't doubt that Sean has already shipped it. I paid for it within an hour of the auction and other stuff I have bought from him has literally taken 2 days to reach me. They are way fast. How close is he to you? The bidding war thing, yeah I really do hate that. I let 2 other board members who I knew were very interested in the sign know what my high bid was, I actually put in 738.38. For a couple of reasons. One if they honestly had every intention of outbidding me then I would not have bid. There is no need to make them pay more when they wouldnt have to otherwise. Two, I wanted to know what the intentions were with the sign. Just like Jeff saying hey I want to have it reproduced and he already has a guy lined up to do it, well heck then that is easy, I would be happy to send him the sign. I have known Jeff for years, I trust him with anything I own. I know even though he jokes on here about not returning it that if I handed it over it would not only come back but geez I would be willing to bet it comes back in better condition than when I sent it. He is a lot like me for being a stickler about taking care of things.

For me the sign is about history, I am trying to put together a collection for historical purposes. I will actually probably buy one of the reproductions for daily use. Just the way that I am. Even if you missed the auction, we're going to make sure that the ability is there for anyone who wants one to buy a reproduction at any time. Once the shop makes it they will have the specs on file. And hey then you can even get the neon in any color you want.

I'm only about two hours from him but when I go to Chicago I literally drive within 5 miles of the shop. I had been there a couple times before I even bought my first Centurion.

It would be great to meet up with you but my time in Ohio is getting short. I'm in York, PA this week, Chicago next week and Dallas the week after to start the new job.

OK now I'm rambling...Anyway I'm really glad you got the sign and really glad I missed the end of the auction. I'll look forward to getting one of the reproductions.

I've been "home" maybe 5 days in since Oct., I don't have the ability to spearhead a project like this anymore. Maybe someone else can take it over, but I'm pretty much out of the picture.
